JOB PURPOSE:

To evaluate, review and analyze support business systems, processes and user needs. This would be implemented by documenting requirements, defining scope and objectives and formulating systems to parallel overall business strategies. Furthermore, the role involves serving as a thought leader for technical business processes to enable increased productivity and efficiency in various units and capacities.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Determine operational objectives by observing business functions; gathering data; evaluating output requirements and formats 
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; analyzing system capabilities; creating specifications 
  • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications for more efficiency 
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems; developing improved procedures 
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget 
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions 
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends 
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed 
  • Validate resource requirements and develop cost estimate models 
  • Conduct, interpret, evaluate and coordinate financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning within the various departments and programs with the aim of incorporation into decision-making 
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports 
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes 
  • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes 
  • Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement 
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues 
QUALIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science related discipline 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

 
  • to 2 years’ experience in an analytics and systems development capacity 
  • Experience in educational institutions is an asset 
  • Experience with budgeting in a project 
  • Experience generating process documentation 
  • Experience in project and user-testing management 
  • Experience in data visualization 
SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:
  • Possession of technical writing capabilities 
  • Ability to multitask and manage time well 
  • Competence in Office 365, MS Project and MS Planner 
  • Possession of analytical abilities 
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights
